The Goathouse Supply Bed and Breakfast in Laxton
Laxton is a small rural village in the midlands, going back to the Norman Conquest.
These days visitors can go to the the site of the old castle at the edge of the village, and witness Nottinghamshires best preserved motte and bailey castle.
You can also view the pleasant, and fine looking, Church of St Michael the Archangel which dates from early 12th century and is still regularly used.
Nevertheless, what makes Laxton truly special is its usage of the open farming system.
This is the only working open field system in Europe and one can walk the fields on your own or take a tour with a local, which we can organise for you.
