Intelius CEO Selected as GOPIO Speaker

Naveen Jain, chief executive officer of Intelius Inc., has recently been chosen as speaker at the GOPIO (Global Organization of People of Indian Origin) Economic, Business and Development Conference. The event took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in New York, from August 20th to the 23rd. The Bellevue, Washington-based company’s CEO discussed about the Indian Diaspora in the Emerging Global Economy.

The conference invited various leaders of Indian roots from across the globe to tackle the impending global economic trials and development in India and the Indian Diaspora.

Founded in 1989, GOPIO, which was formed to represent human rights violations victims, has since extended its aims in promoting the general welfare of persons of Indian origin. It also finds ways to advance the cooperation and communication of Indians residing in different nations.

This year, other prominent speakers at the Economic, Business and Development Conference were: Jagdish Bhagwati and Dr. Arvind Panagariya from the Columbia University of International and Public Affairs, Bharat Bhargava who is the president of the US-India American Chamber of Commerce and Hon. Dr. A.M. Gondane, the Deputy Consul General of India. In addition, this year is the organization’s 20th anniversary.

“As a person of Indian origin, it is an honor to be asked to speak to such an accomplished group of people with a shared heritage,” said Naveen Jain. “I’m looking forward to offering my perspective on the challenges facing our people and, by extension, the entire world,” he added.

Naveen Jain, who is a philanthropist, technology pioneer and entrepreneur, was born and raised in India. He obtained his Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and later earned his Master’s degree from the Xavier Institute of Management. Following these education attainments, he migrated to the US to pursue his IT career. In 2003, he co-established information company Intelius Incorporated.
